Real-Time Crime Centers are increasingly common in modern policing — but technology alone does not drive results. What matters is how tools, personnel, and investigative workflows work together to turn alerts into actionable cases.
In this webinar, leaders from the Miami Police Department will discuss how Miami integrates its Real-Time Crime Center and Crime Gun Intelligence capabilities to support violent crime investigations in real time. The session will explore how gunshot detection, camera systems, ballistic intelligence, and investigative follow-up work together to improve situational awareness, accelerate lead development, and strengthen case-building efforts.
Through a real-world case example, panelists will show how integrated workflows spanning RTCC personnel, CGIC investigators, and supporting technologies can help connect incidents over time, recover critical evidence, and advance investigations that may not have been possible under earlier operating models. The discussion will also draw on independent research evaluating Miami’s RTCC, which found that violent crime cases supported by the center had a 66% higher likelihood of clearance than cases without RTCC involvement.
Designed for law enforcement leaders and practitioners, this session will focus on practical lessons agencies can apply when evaluating, building, or strengthening an RTCC or related investigative capability — including how to operate effectively within space, staffing, and budget constraints.
By the end of this webinar, attendees will be able to:
- Understand how RTCC and CGIC workflows can work together to support real-time response and investigative follow-through
- Identify how gunshot detection, video, ballistic intelligence, and investigative tools can be integrated to improve case development
- Recognize the role personnel, workflow design, and cross-functional coordination play in turning technology into investigative results
- Apply practical lessons for strengthening RTCC effectiveness within their own agency
