The Challenge of Unlinked Databases

Cobb County faced a significant challenge in its efforts to fight crime effectively: the difficulty of linking databases when searching for suspects and witnesses. This process required sufficient manpower and time and despite the dedicated efforts of the county's law enforcement officers, the lack of an efficient, unified system to manage and cross-reference information hindered their ability to swiftly and accurately identify and apprehend suspects.

The Introduction of CrimeTracer

In response to this challenge, Cobb County adopted CrimeTracer, a state-of-the-art software designed to streamline the search process and enhance inter-agency collaboration. By entering search criteria and allowing the software to handle the rest, officers could quickly access relevant data from multiple agencies, enabling them to link suspects and gather crucial information, significantly improving their investigative capabilities.

Achieving Remarkable Results

The impact of CrimeTracer was immediate and profound. Cobb County now had the ability to deliver fast, comprehensive results that played a critical role in solving complex cases. As a result of implementing CrimeTracer, Cobb County achieved a 100% clearance rate on homicides for two consecutive years, far surpassing the national average of 50-60%.
