Alfred Lewers Jr., VP of Trauma Response & Community Engagement for SoundThinking
Al Lewers plays a vital role in expanding SoundThinking’s societal impact. With a diverse background in law enforcement, customer success, and community-focused organizations, Alfred leverages his extensive experience to develop strategies that foster deeper relationships between SoundThinking's customer agencies and the local community. He is dedicated to institutionalizing emergency trauma response and community engagement by collaborating with organizations focused on addressing gunshot trauma response, reducing gun violence, promoting human welfare, and advocating for youth.
Prior to SoundThinking, Alfred was a Senior Law Enforcement Project Manager at the National Policing Institute in Arlington, Virginia. He retired as the Assistant Chief of Police at the Miami Gardens Police Department in Florida, where he played a pivotal role in establishing and managing the agency's 300-member force and its public safety technology strategies. Alfred is professionally engaged and civic-minded. He is also a proud graduate of the FBI National Academy's 259th session and holds a master's degree in public administration from Florida International University.

Tahirah A. Moore, Community Engagement for SoundThinking
Tahirah A. Moore, brings over 15 years of community engagement, relationship building and government relations experience to the SoundThinking organization. She served as the Deputy Director of Intergovernmental Affairs, Senior Advisor for Criminal Justice and Public Safety and Brooklyn Borough Director of Community Affairs for NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio’s Administration.
Additionally, Tahirah has served on Capitol Hill in the capacity of Constituent Visitor Assistant in the United States Senate and as a Washington Fellow in the House of Representatives. Moreover, Ms. Moore served as Director of Constituent Services and Legislative Aide in the NYC Council, prior to joining the Adminstration of Mayor de Blasio. As a well known advocate against gun violence, Tahirah has helped to management NYC’s Crisis Management System, worked on the legislation that formed NYC’s first “Mayor’s Office to Prevent Gun Violence” and has partnered with the NYPD in developing strategies around preventing gun violence.

Dr. Taniko King-Jordan, DSW, LMSW Director of Community Engagement Dr. Taniko King-Jordan is a seasoned community engagement leader with over 15 years of experience advancing equity, public safety, and youth advocacy across sectors. As Director of Community Engagement at SoundThinking, she leads strategic partnerships with law enforcement, community-based organizations, and local governments to strengthen trust, reduce violence, and foster trauma-informed approaches to public safety.
With a background in clinical social work and executive leadership, Dr. King-Jordan has built a career around empowering underserved communities, advocating for justice-focused policies, and designing innovative engagement models. She has served in senior roles across nonprofits, public agencies, and school systems—bridging the gap between government institutions and the communities they serve.
Dr. King-Jordan holds a Doctor of Social Work degree and is known for her collaborative leadership style, emotional intelligence, and deep commitment to systemic change. Her work continues to drive sustainable impact through inclusive engagement and evidence-based practices.
